I was born around 1297 into a very wealthy bourgeois family in the city of León. My father, Carlos, is the mayor of this city, administering it and the surrounding towns and villages, and is a loyal friend and assistant to the Lord of León, to whom our family is related. I have four older brothers, all of whom help my father. My mother, Isabel, died when I was born. However, my father soon remarried, and I gained a stepmother, Eleanor, with whom my father had another son.

I spent my childhood with my younger brother at the court of the Lords de León, where I learned basic skills such as reading and writing, working at a noble court, housekeeping, and other basic skills for a girl like me.

At the age of fifteen, at the request of my father and eldest brother, I was sent to serve Lady Constanza Garcia Manrique de Lara, to accompany her on a trip through Europe and the Czech lands, to learn other important skills of an adult woman, and possibly to find a husband. Immediately after my arrival at her estate, Lady Constanza de Lara took me under her wing and gave me a proper and detailed education. She shared many of her own experiences with me, which I make full use of.

Lady Constanza is a very kind woman with whom I have a very special relationship, more friendly than professional. I take care of her well-being, make sure that Mrs. Constanza always has what she needs, help her get dressed, and accompany my mistress wherever she wishes. I have not been serving Mrs. Constanza Garciaz Manrique de Lara for long, but I already know that I have found support and satisfaction with her.
